Fuel smell or a leaking carburetor. Old fuel lines and carb gaskets dry out, and leaking gas near a hot engine is a fire risk. Park it and call us.
Hard starts, stumbling, or backfiring. On older cars that's usually points, timing, or a carb that needs adjustment. Familiar territory for us.
It runs, but it hasn't been gone through in years. A careful once-over catches dried hoses, tired ignition parts, and small leaks before a drive turns into a tow.

Parts for older cars can take time to source, and we'll tell you that up front instead of guessing at a date.
Every classic is different, so we don't quote sight unseen. Bring it by or call, tell us what it's doing, and we'll give you an honest estimate and an honest timeline.
Why classics need a different kind of shop
Most technicians today learned on computers and scan tools, and plenty of shops simply turn older cars away. These cars need someone who can set points by feel, read a spark plug, and tune a carburetor by ear. That's how Luis learned the trade, and it's work we're glad to still do.

DO YOU ACTUALLY WORK ON CARBURETORS AND POINTS?
Yes, regularly. Luis started on these systems more than 45 years ago and still enjoys them. Cleaning, rebuilding, adjustment, and ignition tuning are all things we do.
CAN YOU GET PARTS FOR A CAR THIS OLD?
Usually, but sometimes it takes patience. Some parts we can get in days, others have to be hunted down. We'll tell you honestly how long the search might take before you commit.
DO YOU DO RESTORATIONS?
We do mechanical work, keeping classics running, driving, and stopping safely. For full body-off restorations or paint, we'll happily point you to someone good.
